How does a POS / EDC terminal work for accepting Pluxee Meal Card payments?

3 min to read

Pluxee-enabled POS (Point of Sale) or EDC terminals make it easy for Pluxee-affiliated merchants to accept payments from consumers using their Pluxee Meal Cards at physical outlets.

Here’s how the process works:

  1. The POS terminal is configured to accept Pluxee card payments—either on a dedicated machine or a shared one, depending on the POS partner.
  2. The consumer presents their Pluxee Meal Card at a Pluxee merchant outlet (e.g., restaurants, supermarkets, or cafes)
  3. The merchant selects the “Pluxee” or “Sale” option on the terminal (varies by partner).
  4. The Pluxee card is swiped (not dipped) to process the transaction. This ensures seamless acceptance of Pluxee meal benefits.
  5. A chargeslip or e-chargeslip is generated upon successful payment.
  6. The POS system allows for void or settlement options as needed.
Note

POS paper rolls and device maintenance (break-fix services) are handled by the respective POS partners.
